Gbonse Foundation to mark International Women’s Day with medical outreach 

Gbonse Foundation for Economic Development, a community development and non-governmental organisation, has announced it will on Monday, March 9 celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 with a medical outreach.

The theme for the IWD 2026 ‘Give To Gain’ encourages a mindset of generosity and collaboration.

The foundation said in a statement that the outreach would begin at 10:30am at its Lagos office: KM2 LASU-Ojo Express Road, Odo-Eran Bus stop, Igando.

Basic health checks such as blood pressure screening, blood sugar testing, among others, will be conducted.

“Gbonse Foundation aims to improve the economic and well-being of Nigerian citizens. Our mission is to support underserved communities through financial empowerment, health promotion, and social welfare programs that improve overall quality of life. Our is to empower citizens, especially those at the bottom of the socioeconomic pyramid, thereby contributing to a society free from poverty and economic disparity.

“As part of our commitment to community well-being, we are organizing a free medical outreach program at our Igando office. The outreach activities will include basic health checks such as blood pressure screening, blood sugar testing, health education, and necessary referrals,” the statement said.

Founded by Mrs Helen Olaniyan, Gbonse Foundation provides convenient and flexible loans with no collateral for women to grow their businesses. It also supports skill acquisition in areas such as shoemaking, fashion designing and barbing while offering small loans to help women fund their children’s education at kindergarten, primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
